The client wanted a series of windows set in doors on their second floor stair landing. This piece presented me with an opportunity to work in opalescent glass of the type invented by John LaFarge and Louis Tiffany as I felt this type of glass would best convey a painterly feeling without relying on the flat color intrinsic to mouth blown glass or the light falling on objects outside. Opalescent glass gives a more diffuse look that I felt would be most effective in this setting.
